Our team was thrilled to return last week as a Silver Sponsor to the Society of Maintenance & Reliability Professionals Houston Chapter (HCSMRP), 13th Annual Maintenance and Reliability Symposium (MaRS) in Galveston, TX!

The Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP) is an international organization of over 3,000 members that provides exceptional value for individual practitioners and professionals looking to expand their knowledge, grow their skills and build more business connections with others.

This year, we joined SMRP as an Executive Industry Partner and SMRPCO Sustaining Sponsor. We are proud to support SMRP’s vision to serve as the global leader for the reliability, maintenance and physical asset management profession while valuing data-driven excellence, sharing/collaboration, membership focus, continuous improvement, accountability, trust and respect, integrity and social responsibility. Through our membership we focus to actively provide tools and consulting to Practitioners in the fields of maintenance and reliability to help them make their world more reliable.

Each year the Houston SMRP Chapter (HCSMRP) hosts an annual three-day Maintenance and Reliability Symposium (MaRS) that brings together like-minded professionals from across the globe, specifically from the Gulf Coast region to network, share ideas and discuss reliability driven solutions. The technical program focuses on providing education to attendees in the following areas:

  • Business Management
  • Manufacturing Process Reliability
  • Equipment Reliability
  • People Skills and Work Management

Our Principal of Asset Management Solutions, Sean Rosier, and Vice President of Solutions, Nathanael Ince, were present in the exhibition hall and we wanted to catch up with them on some of the hottest topics of the conference. Check out our resources for topics of interest:

In addition to our presence in the exhibition hall, Sean presented Five Steps to Justify Reliability Improvement Initiatives on Thursday, August 8th. Sean’s presentation was a part of a special track on Operations & Maintenance created specifically for the symposium, tailored to providing educational material to maintenance, operations and reliability professionals.  Within the presentation, Sean discussed five key steps to achieve cost-justification of initiatives to help you evaluate your site practices and performance to achieve results, highlighting the most valuable improvement opportunities across functions and departments.

The Five Steps include:

  • Reflecting on Your Purpose
  • Measuring Your Opportunities
  • Connecting Value to Your Solutions
  • Sustaining Top Performance
  • Building Your Roadmap to Success

To dive into more detail, we wanted to ask Sean to provide a key takeaway for each step:
