Presentation Title: Changing Workforce Culture to Improve Reliability

Track: Water Utility Management and Leadership

Session: TUE29 – Employee Engagement Can Change your Culture

Time / Date: Tuesday, June 11, 2019 10:45-11:15am

Solutions Analyst, Laura Hudson, and CEO & Founder of Collaborative Strategies Consulting Inc., Bob Donaldson, will join forces on Tuesday, June 11 for their presentation, “Changing Workforce Culture to Improve Reliability.”

The presentation will include a client’s perspective on the benefits to changing workforce culture to improve reliability. During the presentation, Laura and Bob will outline key components to creating cultural change that will give attendees tools to improve collaboration and communications between groups and eliminate the silo mentality that often exists among departments.

Why should you attend the presentation? Here’s what Bob has to say about the topic:

“There are millions of groups struggling with inadequate performance, despite the fact that research and many studies over the years have given us the tools to turn this around. Human behavior and how humans respond to particular environmental conditions are no longer a mystery. Successful group cultures become that way because they have created enhanced environments that are consistent with the operating rules of the human brain.

While treating people with dignity and respect has an intrinsic moral imperative, it also happens to produce the best results when trying to accomplish a group task that relies on human capital. People who are supported to achieve success in their work lives and are then recognized in those achievements become extremely loyal and dedicated high performers.

A good leader who is helping their reports to achieve great things in their professional lives can become a hero. Good leaders fashion their reputation with their direct reports by training, supporting and mentoring their direct reports towards successful outcomes that benefit both the individual and the group mission.”
