PinnacleART’s water and waste water Solutions Analyst, Laura Hudson, is scheduled to co-present at the Water Environment Federation’s 91st Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC) in New Orleans, Louisiana alongside Electrical Safety and Maintenance Expert, Ralph Stevens. In the presentation titled, “Using RCM to Build Your Arc Flash Safety and Electrical Preventive Maintenance Program,”  Ralph and Laura will highlight the importance of Arc Flash in regards to safety and will discuss how Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) can assist with building a successful electrical preventative maintenance program. The presentation will be held during the 607 Vertical Asset Management Tools and Techniques Traditional Technical Session on October 3rd from 2:30pm-3:00pm in Room 347 of the New Orleans Morial Convention Center.

About the Presenters

Laura Hudson

As a Solutions Analyst for PinnacleART, Laura Hudson supports PinnacleARTs Solutions Department through her technical writing services for both the company’s marketing team and for clients. She assists with content development, business development strategies, proposal writing and editing, and client contacts. For clients, she provides data collection, review, evaluation, and updates to Standard Operating Procedures, Operations and Maintenance manuals, Emergency Response Plans, and other facility documentation.

Laura holds a Ph.D. in Cultural Studies with a D.E. in Critical Theory, which includes a focus on sociology, communications, anthropology, philosophy, and literature. Prior to joining the PinnacleART team, Laura taught English, Humanities, Critical Theory, Women’s Studies and a variety of ethnic studies courses at the University of California. This experience allowed her to strengthen her excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills, which are essential to her role with PinnacleART. As a graduate student, Laura studied Sociology, Communications, Advertising, Media and Popular Culture, which gives her special insight into how work culture develops from the ground up, and how advertising and marketing processes respond to, and shape social needs. Laura honed her critical-thinking skills into becoming one of PinnacleART’s premiere problem-solvers.

Laura’s extensive experience is the result of working with water and wastewater clients during the past six years, as well as working as a marketing professional for more than eight years, including her work during her graduate studies.

Ralph Stevens

Ralph has over 35 years of experience in all areas of water reclamation. He was Electrical Supervisor for Chicago Metropolitan Water Reclamation for over 30 years, supervising 70 employees and responsible for powering and maintaining all plant systems. Ralph also worked on the Chicago Deep Tunnel mega-project, a network of giant tunnels designed to funnel billions of gallons of excess sewage and stormwater away from Lake Michigan. As planner and scheduler for Clark County Water Reclamation in Nevada, he supervised capital projects. Ralph understands the importance of reliable assets and reliability centered maintenance programs and has championed increased focus on maintenance, asset reliability, and asset management throughout his career.
