PinnacleART Vice President of Reliability Solutions, Walt Sanford and Director of Water Solutions, Paul Hughes will present at the 2018 Reliability Conference in Las Vegas. The presentation titled, “Reliability Centered Operations: Lessons Learned from In-House Implementation,” describes a two stage Operations & Maintenance (O&M) improvement initiative at two wastewater facilities experiencing significant operational problems and early asset failures.

During this case study presentation, our experts will cover the challenges the two facilities’ faced as well as the solutions implemented and lessons learned.

Walt Sanford is the Vice President of Reliability Solutions for PinnacleART. He is responsible for development, oversight and growth of all reliability and asset management products and services across all industry sectors.

During his extensive tenure in reliability, Walt has served in a variety of roles, including as an operations, maintenance and integrity strategy and process advisor for several global companies. As an advisor, he supported these organizations in asset management strategy development, gap analysis, improvement process development and implementation, and asset performance management. Walt is considered a global expert in the implementation of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM). Having been an RCM practitioner since 1990, Walt has been a pioneer in the adaptation of RCM to various industries and environments, and the evolution and continuous improvement of RCM and other risk management processes.

Paul Hughes, Director of Water Solutions helps build, implement and maintain reliability-driven asset management programs for water operations and maintenance (O&M) facilities. He has over 20 years of experience in the water/wastewater industry and is currently responsible for managing client relationships and supporting the development of O&M services within PinnacleART’s water department. He is a key liaison between clients and PinnacleART’s services, helping craft best-fit solutions for complex operations, maintenance, and reliability challenges.

Prior to joining the PinnacleART team, Paul served in a wide variety of positions in sales, marketing, business development, technical services, treatment plant operations, and product development across the U.S., giving him a wide-ranging perspective on the water and wastewater industries. As an Operations Supervisor, he was privy to the day-to-day challenges faced by facilities, and developed an extensive and holistic perspective on resolving these challenges. His water/wastewater expertise makes him an in-demand speaker and instructor. He has taught classes through California State University, Sacramento for the Office of Water Programs, and has been a guest speaker for Notre Dame’s Engineering Department, as well as speaking and presenting at a variety of water and wastewater seminars, conferences, and conventions.
